Fortune Brands Q3 2026: $303M Asset Impairments and Fiberon Divestiture Dominate as IEEPA Refunds Provide $146.6M Partial Offset
Fortune Brands Innovations reported a materially degraded earnings profile for the thirty-nine weeks ended September 26, 2026, with net income falling to $51.6 million from $222.4 million in the prior-year period, driven by $303.1 million in asset impairment charges across the Water and Outdoors segments. The $146.6 million IEEPA tariff refund — the single largest one-time item — obscures underlying operational deterioration: volume declines across all three segments reflect market softness, service level challenges, and discrete share losses. The announced sale of Fiberon for $160 million in cash, paired with the decision to exit the Moen commercial business in Asia, signals an accelerating portfolio restructuring that will reshape the Outdoors segment and reduce China exposure.
